Five New Zealand artists were invited to exhibit works in Venice for the 60th International Art Exhibition, Stranieri Ovunque – Foreigners Everywhere, by curator Adriano Pedrosa.
Artists Fred Graham (Ngāti Koroki Kahukura, Tainui) and Brett Graham (Ngāti Koroki Kahukura, Tainui), father and son, were two of the five. In December 2023 Brett was nearing completion of his large-scale work, Wasteland, the only new, commissioned work from Aotearoa made for Biennale Arte 2024: Stranieri Ovunque – Foreigners Everywhere.
