Sharon Stephenson interviewed Karl Maughan for WOMAN magazine.
"You might not know his face but, even if you’ve been calling the underside of a rock home for the past few years, you’ll know Karl’s work: bright bursts of flowers, dark green herbaceous borders and skies the colour of a certain gin bottle. There are surrealist rhododendrons and fat hydrangeas, wild meadows and gardens manicured to within an inch of their lives. And layer upon layer of paint, painstakingly applied to enormous canvases – some as big as my car."
