Sara Hughes' New Public Art Initiative 'Reimagine Tauranga'

At the heart of the story is gallery artist Sara Hughes, whose Reimagine Tauranga project transforms the vacant windows of eight central city storefronts into vibrant artworks inspired by local history and everyday objects from the Tauranga Museum collection. Hughes has also involved more than 250 children in the creative process, blending her signature bold patterns and colour with community‑generated imagery to bring energy, curiosity and joy to the urban centre.
