Overview

Gow Langsford is excited to return to the Aotearoa Art Fair with curated presentations of new work by leading contemporary voices across two booths.

The gallery's main booth will be located on the ground floor of the Viaduct Events Centre, bringing a rich and varied body of work from New Zealand based artists such as Brett Graham, Steve Carr, John Pule and Shane Cotton, and international artists; Sally Gabori, Bernar Venet and Clement Meadmore.

In addition, the gallery will present a second booth located upstairs offering a selection of affordable works, including sculpture, editions, and original paintings by represented artists such as Sara Hughes, Chris Heaphy, Michael Hight, John Pule, David McCracken and Simon Ingram, providing a wider range of art for diverse collectors.

A new suite of prints created by Sara Hughes with Auckland Print Studio will be launched exclusively by Gow Langsford during the Fair. On these new works Sara notes: “These labour intensive prints employ the traditional print methods of Lithography, Woodblock, Monoprint and Chine collé and are created on hand operated printing presses. This has allowed me to build up layers to create painterly unique works. The prints investigate my current interest on light, colour and time, with specific focus of the scattering of light that creates the colours we see in the sky at sunset when light has further to travel through the atmosphere. Titles of the lithographs and woodblock prints refer to this phenomena that allows us to see the longer wavelength yellow and red light.”
