Dale Frank
The viewer becomes protagonist in Dale Frank’s new series of works. Where earlier works are partially reflective through the use of high gloss varnish, in this new series Frank replaces canvas with mirrored Perspex, allowing the viewer to become an integral part of the work. The works will be exhibited at both gallery spaces and a catalogue will be available.
Dale Frank’s paintings are held in major public collections around the world including the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston; the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, New York and the Kunsthaus, Zurich; and every major public collection in Australia. Dale Frank is one of Australia’s foremost contemporary painters.Recent career highlights include the 2014 Adelaide Biennial of Australian Art: Dark Heart at the Art Gallery of South Australia, curated by Nick Mitzevich and inclusion in Personal Structures at the Palazzo Bembo, a collateral event of the official the 55th Venice Biennale, 2013.
