Artists Collaborate with Top Musicians to Raise Money for the Salvation Army

Seven of our artists, Reuben PatersonDarryn GeorgeDick FrizzellMichael HightMax GimblettJohn Walsh and Karl Maughan have created original artworks inspired by re-imagined hymns for 'Offering', a 12 track album by Hollie Smith and Teeks and the Auckland Gospel Choir.

The album is available to purchase on 26 April (CD and digital) and the original artworks, as well as limited edition prints, will be sold at an exhibition in Auckland in May, with all proceeds going to the Salvation Army.

Gow Langsford Gallery has popped up in Christchurch to showcase an exciting new exhibition.

For three weeks this month, the exhibition will feature works by New Zealand and international artists, including Gregor KregarDick FrizzellSara HughesReuben Paterson, Damien Hirst, Jeff Koons, Pablo Picasso, Gordon Walters and Colin McCahon. Michael Hight: Crossing The Line

We are delighted to announce the launch of Michael Hight's first monograph, Michael Hight: Crossing the line.  The publication spans Michael's painting career from early abstract assemblages, through iconic beehive landscapes, to recent explorations of nocturnal memory-scapes; and features essays by distinguished art writer and curator, Gregory O'Brien, and poet and author Paula Green.

The book launch will take place on Monday the 15th of December, from 5-7pm at Level 2, 26 Lorne Street.  Please note this is the level above our Lorne Street Gallery.  The event will be a celebration of Michael's work to date, featuring paintings reproduced in the publication.  Michael, Gregory and Paula will all be present.  Copies will be available for purchase on the night for the special price of $35 (RRP$49.00). Drinks will be served and Eftpos will be available. Please RSVP before 10 December.

Join Gow Langsford at the Tauranga Arts Festival this year. From 23 October - 3 November we will have a pop-up gallery on Grey St in Tauranga exhibiting original and editioned work by a wide range of gallery artists including Paul Dibble, Dale Frank, Dick Frizzell, Max Gimblett, Chris Heaphy, Michael Hight, Gregor Kregar, Karl Maughan, Judy Millar, Reuben Paterson, John Pule and John Walsh.

Opening night: Tuesday 22 October, 7-9pm, all welcome.
Our opening event will follow on from the unveiling of a newly commissioned sculpture by artist Gregor Kregar at the Tauranga Art Gallery, 5-7pm.
