These works exhibit a tension between their profoundly inorganic forms and their unusual and unpredictable behaviour. It is a tension that pervades much of what I do. These works are in many ways a reflection of my own ambiguous relationship with technology.
I find gizmos of any sort attractive and interesting, yet I am deeply aware of their often superfluous and de-humanizing nature. The precariousness of this series of work mirrors my own fear of and perhaps desire for, the whole high-tech, hyper kinetic house of cards to come tumbling down.
